酴圖弝け Stands in Solidarity with the LGBTQ Community
Sterling, VA June 12,泭2016: The 酴圖弝け (酴圖弝け) detests all acts of violence. We believe in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which states, All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. We have not witnessed this to be upheld, as evidenced during this mornings events in Orlando at Pulse Nightclub. While we continue to learn the details of this horrific tragedy, there are powerful reverberations throughout the LGBTQ community, during this month dedicated to pride.
Just as we have done, 酴圖弝け will continue to urge legislation, community programs and education from health-care professionals regarding gun safety, persevering in the fight for CDC funding towards research on the public health issue of gun violence. We will stand strong together in our call for the enactment of effective federal violence prevention legislation, which calls for a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines.
As the physicians-in-training that make up 酴圖弝け always have, we will continue to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ community, recognizing that discrimination based on gender and sexuality stems from common roots in sexism and heterosexism. We vehemently oppose all discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity and will continue to work to uproot the bigotry, hatred and fear. We will stand un-waivered and prove that love wins, always.
